An Action Research on Improving Environmental Sensitivity of Fourth Grade Primary School Students: What Happens in the School Garden?

School gardens, which play an important role in environmental education, provide opportunity for students to develop awareness and gain responsibility. In this study, draws attention this, it is aimed reveal the applicability of workshops prepared school garden order improve sensitivity students. The research was carried out with 10 female male 4th grade a public primary city center Bartin 2021-2022 academic year. action design, one qualitative methods. data were obtained through scale developed by Peker (2020) semi-structured interview form researchers. Quantitative using descriptive statistics dependent group t-test statistical procedures; analyzed content analysis technique. As result research, has been determined that education are effective increasing students’ awareness. Students stated activities fun, useful instructive. result, seen applied increase process positive effect on them. can be suggested should brought gardens reflected educational environments organizing various encourage attitudes.
